Young Jack Gets Dream Dive 31st December 2009
It's not everyday that a 14 year old boy gets to tell his school friends
that he got to dive a war ship in Bass Strait! But that's exactly what Jack
Vandenbosch got to do as part of his PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Course.
His request before the dive was to sit in the captains chair and Rubens made
sure this dream came true. He was all smile after his dive.

The swells that have hit the Canberra over the
last few weeks have started to dislodge some of the stainless steal sheeting
which covers some of the walls. It is especially evident in the galley. Care
should be taken when diving through the galley and keep a look out for
anything moving around with the water movement.

Have not had the best of luck on this wreck site
over the Christmas period with many of the dives been cancelled due to poor
weather outside the Bay. The swells that hit the wreck seem to affect the
bow section with the stern area and helicopter hangers the most calmer
areas. The bridge hit pretty hard by the swells so if it is a bit swelly and
you are on the bridge, take care.
